About the author

Lorcán Black is an Irish poet. His poetry has been published in The Tomahawk ReviewStirringLetters JournalThe RushGrim & GildedNew Writing ScotlandSnapdragonConnecticut River ReviewNorthern New England ReviewThe Los Angeles Review & The Stinging Fly, amongst numerous others.
 

He is a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee and has been longlisted and shortlisted for the Two Sylvias Prize and The Paris Literary Prize respectively.
 

His first collection, Rituals, was published by April Gloaming Publishing in 2019. His second collection, Strange Husbandry, is out now from Seren books.

Strange Husbandry is a Poetry Book Society Recommendation for 2024 and has been nominated for the Forward Prize for Poetry for 2024 and the Dylan Thomas Prize for Poetry for 2025.
